Move from agreement to acceptance in a controlled order

Physical motorcycle check

Inspect the actual unit—not only the model name

• Correct model, variant, and agreed colour
• Visible paint, panels, chrome, seat, trim, and decals
• No unexplained scratch, dent, crack, corrosion, or transport damage
• Tyres visibly sound and inflated to the exact model requirement
• Wheels, spokes or alloys, axles, and visible fasteners checked
• Front and rear brakes operate and release normally as demonstrated; use the exact-model drum, disc or combined-brake route for the applicable controls, fluid boundary and safety escalation
• Throttle, clutch where fitted, levers, pedals, steering, and stands operate; for a petrol-model clutch, record the delivery control finding and use the published 10–20 mm lever range and symptom boundaries, while ICON e uses its front and rear brake-lever route
• Headlight, tail and brake light, indicators, horn, switches, and display work
• Petrol model starts correctly without unexplained noise, smoke, or leakage
• Electric model powers up correctly without warning, heat, smell, or damage
• Fluid, fuel, oil, battery, or charging status checked only as applicable; use the exact-model battery specification and electric-model boundary rather than a generic capacity claim
• Accessories and modifications match the written order and safe installation

Do not normalize a discrepancy: “we will fix it later” should become a specific written item with responsibility and timing—or be resolved before delivery is completed.

Identity and transaction consistency

Match the motorcycle to the records

If the motorcycle is financed, reconcile the lender approval, down payment, complete schedule, named vendor/dealer, invoice, payment receiver, ownership/security and registration responsibility with the motorcycle installment and financing guide before accepting delivery.

Do not publish photographs of invoices, identifiers, identity documents, registration records, finance papers, or contact details. Keep them securely for the transaction and relevant authorities.

Handover demonstration

Ask the dealership to explain the motorcycle before you ride

• Correct starting or power-up and shutdown sequence
• Controls, indicators, warning lights, switches, locks, and steering lock
• Braking operation and model-specific combined or disc-brake points
• Fueling or charging method and applicable safety warnings
• Tyre pressures and load or passenger limits in the exact model guide; verify the current tyre size and cold-pressure matrix
• Running-in or early-use guidance only as documented for the model
• Warranty registration, coverage route, conditions, exclusions, and claim contact
• Periodic-service timing and records from the exact model documents

Atlas Honda has publicly stated that an owner’s manual is provided and technical features are demonstrated at delivery. The demonstration should be practical enough for the buyer to locate and use the model’s essential controls and records.

Protect the first ownership records

• Store invoice, delivery, warranty, service, finance, and registration records securely

Record a delivery-time noise or vibration before acceptance.

If a new motorcycle knocks, rattles, clunks, grinds, vibrates unusually or changes with controls, preserve the exact before-delivery condition and use the private behavior and safety finder. Do not accept “it will settle” or authorize a guessed adjustment without an inspection record and clear delivery decision.

Record steering and suspension condition before acceptance.

Record a delivery-time gear or clutch-control change before acceptance.

Record petrol leakage or raw-fuel smell before delivery acceptance.

Do not accept wetness, a drip, strong vapour, cap concern, unexplained fuel loss or fuel on a tyre or brake as “settling.” Use the exact-model fuel-safety route and require a documented inspection and delivery decision before starting or normal use.

Record every light, signal, horn and display before delivery acceptance.

Check the exact controls and operating states shown for the model, including low/high beam, left/right indicators, horn, tail/stop light, neutral, gear, READY or warnings where equipped. Use the exact-model electrical route for any failure, dimming, flicker, fuse event or inconsistency and require a documented correction decision before acceptance.
